Working for Compassionate Cannabis Policy in Tennessee

Tennessee patients deserve safe, responsible access to medical cannabis under the guidance of their healthcare providers. Tennessee NORML is working to make compassionate reform a reality.

Our Mission

A patient centered approach to cannabis policy in Tennessee

Tennessee NORML is the official Tennessee state chapter of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws. We are a 501(c)(4) grassroots advocacy organization focused on compassionate medical cannabis policy, patient access, public education, responsible regulation, and cannabis law reform in Tennessee.

Patients first

We believe decisions about medical cannabis belong with patients and their healthcare providers, not with criminal penalties.

Responsible policy

We support carefully written policy with clear standards for product safety, testing, labeling, oversight, and accountability.

Tennessee grassroots

Our work is built by Tennesseans across the state who talk with neighbors, coalitions, and their own elected officials.

How We Work

Education, coalition building, and direct legislative engagement

Public education

We publish plain language information about Tennessee cannabis policy so patients, families, journalists, and legislators can follow the debate accurately.

Legislative engagement

We track cannabis related legislation, communicate with lawmakers, and help Tennesseans contact their own state senators and representatives.

Coalition building

We work alongside patients, veterans, physicians, faith leaders, and community partners who support compassionate reform.

Current Status in Tennessee

Where the conversation stands

Tennessee has not adopted a comprehensive medical cannabis program comparable to programs operating in many other states. Cannabis policy continues to be debated in the Tennessee General Assembly, and proposals are filed, amended, and reconsidered from session to session.

Rather than summarize legislation second hand, we link to the official text so you can read it yourself and reach your own conclusions.

Legislation changes. Always confirm current law and current bill status through official state sources before acting on it.
